Most of Korea is a very small peninsula, so all of their cuisines has a wealth of seafood dishes, prepared in different ways such as braised, boiled, grilled, roasted, fermented, dried and raw. If were to name something that came immediately to mind when hearing about Korean food, you probably think on spicy food, barbecued meat, and maybe kimchi would also come to mind.

Korean cuisines are considered as a defining element of their culture for many reasons. One is that, food is related to the overall environment of the country, the location and its climate as well as its geography. Most of the locals eat a lot of Korean seafood. Koreans are sea food lovers and seek out the best specialties of each region.

Koreans usually eat 3 different kinds of seafoods most of the time. They often love to eat dried sardine. In fact. This is not their main dish but it serves as a condiment to be eaten along with other dishes. Bowls of these are served at every meal especially during breakfast. Typically, dried cuttlefish is a recipe they cannot eat without. Dried cuttlefish is one of the most popular snack foods in Korea and even sold in vending machines.

There are various kinds that most people in Korea eat. Seaweeds are useful and nutritious in a country that can survive long winters. Babies are also fed with seaweed soups and traditional birthday events include seaweed soup on their menu. Actually, there are thousands of reasons why most Korean foods are very healthy.

For many years, people in Redondo Beach, CA especially the Koreans have tried and eaten products of the field, sea and the mountain because of the distinguish climate which makes Korean dishes more abundant. Most of their foods are exotic, special and particular. The most distinguishing feature of their cuisine is the spiciness. The basic seasonings include green onion, red pepper, bean, paste, soy sauce and a lot more have been combined in different ways of enhancing their dishes.

Aside from seafood dishes, they also love to eat meat dishes and one of the famous dish to many Westerners. They usually love marinated meat. It is marinated in a sauce made with garlic, sugar, soy sauce and other seasonings and cooked over a fire in front of a table. They also love short ribs of pork or beef.

Vegetable dish is another dish popular in the country. Traditionally, people eat more vegetables with rice in their main meal than meat products. Vegetable recipes come in a variety of tastes and kinds. So, if you include any kind of seafood in a healthy diet, heart diseases are likely to occur. Crabs, prawns, octopus and squid are packed with minerals and vitamins found in different kinds of fish such as tuna contains Omega 3 good for the heart.

Although any seafood has higher level of cholesterol, but saturated fats can also be found which can be commonly found in red meat, fast food and cheese that increases levels of bad cholesterol in the body. Thus, sea food is unlikely to have major effects to the levels of your cholesterol.

Overall, research have shown that eating healthy seafood regularly is healthy to your body in several ways. It has been proven that fish oils included to your diet can help you to stay healthy and the best element for the body and be able to improve your life .
