How To Enhance Arm Growth By Squatting Beforehand

By Russ Howe

If you want to find out how to build bigger arms you'll undoubtedly find a sea of misinformation and contradicting advice which has led many men down a path of frustration for years.

And there are many different approaches which are being used in gyms around the world today, including..

1. Using a varied rep range on a weekly basis.

2. Incorporating new moves to prevent your workouts from becoming stale.

3. Regularly increasing the resistance you use to force new results.

And while all three of these methods are definite ways to improve results, still there is a huge problem here. For most men simply cannot experience the type of muscle growth in their arms that they so badly desire.

For all their toil and hard work, getting no results can be frustrating.

Thankfully, researchers from Norway may just have the answer you have been searching for.

In a 2011 study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, a team of scientists experimented to see whether the growth hormone spike created from hitting a large muscle group could be used to improve results in a small muscle group were it to be trained immediately after.

So one group of exercise enthusiasts were instructed to follow an eleven week protocol. They trained their left arm as normal. They trained their right arm following a leg workout. The results were compiled by the researchers and analyzed to see the effects.

The spike in enzymes following a leg session is often thought to carry over and have full body effects. It's one of the main points brought up by personal trainers trying to convince guys that they need to stop neglecting their lower body. Until this 2011 study from Norway, it was merely guesswork.

But what the team found was quite startling.

By supporting their right arm workout with a leg session immediately beforehand, the subjects did indeed take advantage of the spike in muscle building enzymes. This resulted in greatly improved biceps growth in their right arm.

The spike in muscle building enzymes is too short lived to provide gains which carry over into the next day, so in order to really get the full benefits of this scientifically proven trick you need to act fast and hit your biceps or triceps immediately following the end of your lower body session.

Not only did the group build more lean muscle, they increased their one rep max lift on biceps cable curl!

So while it could be tempting to run to your local supplement stockists and spend your monthly budget on miracle powders, don't be fooled. The scientific data suggests that by simply pairing your arms with your legs you can improve results massively - this should be your first step to building bigger arms.
