The process through which this occurs is called electrolysis. Many researchers have criticized the claims made about ionizers stating that there is no quality evidence to support them.

The substance is available from many sources such as groceries and health food stores. Those who believe in the working of ionizers can buy the, from shopping malls and big chain stores. One can also check the internet for businesses that sell similar products. It is also possible to make this product from home. Another way of making this product at home is by adding a few drops of pH into water. The waters used to make the substance at home should be distilled. The substance has received claims of having numerous health benefits. Claims state that is can regulate body pH, prevent cancer and related chronic illnesses, and slow aging. However, research insist that most individual are well off drinking ordinary water. The claims have no shred of support in the field of science.

Some research studies have published results that indicate that the the substance is beneficial in some ways. A 2012 study reached a conclusion that pepsin in the body can be deactivated by the substance. The conclusion from another study found the substance to be beneficial to people who suffer from diabetes, high cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure.

Research has not associated the waters with any medical problem. In fact, they are safe to drink it due to the mineral content. It is the bogus claims of manufacturers and marketers that people need to ignore because they are false.
