How To Make The Best Peanut Butter Fudge

By Michelle Young

When it comes to home-made sweets, fudge is one of those desserts everybody loves. You just cannot go wrong if you combine all favorite ingredients such as chocolate or nuts. Peanut butter fudge is probably one of the most loved of all, thanks to the fact this wonderful spread can be successfully combined with just about anything, with guaranteed results.

Some recipes are more complicated than others, and some are really simple. In any case, start with simple ones. You will need only a few minutes to make really lovely desserts, and the secret is definitely in high quality ingredients. Simple desserts can be equally tasty, or even more tasty than really complicated ones.

The first thing to do is to make the base. This is really easy, simply combine one can condensed milk, sweetened or not, and three cups chocolate chips, dark, milk or white, it's up to you. Place these ingredients in the bowl and melt them together in the microwave. Stir, add your selected type of peanut butter, two or three spoons, and stir until smooth.

Before that, you should prepare a pan, and line it with parchment paper or foil. Simply pour this mixture in, spread it and smooth the top surface, and place everything in your fridge for a couple of hours. After that, you can cut it into cubes or some other shapes, sprinkle with decorative pieces or crushed peanuts, and you are ready to enjoy.

Using this simple but tasty base, you can design numerous extraordinary types of fudge. You may mix some crushed peanuts in, or your favorite kind of chocolate chips, or even small pieces of soft caramel, and you will get entirely different, but equally tasty desserts. If you sprinkle crushed nuts on the mixture while it is still warm, they will stick to it better.

Another ingredient that works perfectly with your favorite spread is caramel. It's really easy to make your own caramel, but you should remember a few things. It should be made over low heat, and you shouldn't stir the sugar, just shake the pan a little, every once in a while. So, put two cups of sugar in your pan and wait until it's caramelized. Pour a small can of condensed milk over and stir until melted.

Once you make your caramel, you can simply add two cups melted chocolate in and stir until smooth. Add three large spoons peanut butter and one cup chopped peanuts in. Pour this mixture into the prepared and lined pan, place everything in the fridge and try to be patient until it hardens enough so you could cut it into small, delicious cubes.

There are numerous variations you will enjoy discovering. For example, when you use full cream instead of condensed milk, and add a little bit of butter in, you might be surprised how much smoother your dessert will be. Sometimes such recipe might require more chocolate to get hard enough, but the taste is unbelievable. Since condensed milk is usually more sweet, you might need to add some sugar in.
