How To Make Simple Gourmet Fudge

By Lisa Clark

Fudge is one of those desserts everyone loves. The good thing is that it is so easy to prepare that anyone can do it. It takes only a few minutes to make it, and an hour or two to cool it, and you will be ready to enjoy. Even a gourmet fudge isn't something you should be afraid of making, the only thing you should remember is not to overheat your chocolate.

So, you could start with this one. Take one cup sugar and melt it with a few spoons of water over low heat. It should become syrupy. Now it is the time to add three cups of your selected choco chips, dark, milk or white. When everything is melted and smooth, add some butter in, approximately half of a cup. Pour into previously lined pan and leave it to cool.

Another simple recipe requires one cup sweetened condensed milk, three cups choco chips and one cup peanut butter. That's all that you need. Simply melt your chocolate, combine with condensed milk, add peanut butter and pour this mixture into the pan. It's advisable to put a sheet of baking paper or foil into the pan first. Leave it all in the fridge for several hours and cut.

So, now you know how to prepare this basic peanut fudge. It's easy to make it more interesting. For example, you could simply sprinkle this warm mixture when you pour it into the pan with white chocolate chips or with crushed peanuts. These ingredients really love each other, and taste great together, but you can add anything you want.

It's quite easy to make a caramel, and it will make your fudge even more interesting. So, caramelize two cups sugar o low heat, and add one can condensed milk. Combine with three cups melted chocolate of your choice. This basic mixture is really tasty, and you may add vanilla, different nuts or even chopped dried fruits, to make it even better.

Basically, one small can of condensed milk is enough for three cups chocolate chips. You can simply melt them together in your microwave, and then combine this mixture with other ingredients. You could also pour one part of it into a pan, and combine the rest of it with butter and crushed peanuts, and pour this mixture over, to make it all more interesting.

Your fudge doesn't have to be brown, if you use white chocolate instead you could have it in any color that you want. Use eatable colors to make different effects, or some intense colored ingredients, for example mint, pistachios, dried cherries or anything else you can think of.

Spice up your dessert with chili, this ingredient simply adores dark chocolate. If you use unsweetened milk and bitter dark choco chips, you should add more salt to make your mixture tastier. In any case, adding some salt is always a good idea, this will make all the flavors more intense.
